Create a dress with a flowing skirt, a V-neckline and statement sleeves. A flat pleat at the sleeve cap and a gathered lower section, finished with a delicate cuff, give Jamie its distinctive character.

For a fitted waist, sew a casing with elastic on the inside at the sides of the dress. Alternatively, sew the casing on the outside and thread through the tie belt for a more striking accent. Centre-front and centre-back seams make sewing the V-neck a little easier. Choose a solid fabric to highlight the details, or a print for a different look.

Choose a fabric with a fluid drape, such as viscose, cotton, Tencel, polyester, linen or double gauze.

• For the elastic version: soft elastic, 4cm wide
