Closet Core Rika trousers

Rika from Closet Core offers a choice of tailored trousers or utilitarian workwear details. The design has a high rise sitting just below the natural waist, a three-piece waistband, angled front pockets, a fly-front zipper and a straight leg.

Pattern options

• View A: cropped, tailored trousers with deep hem cuffs, a tabbed waistband, angled belt loops and rounded back pockets with flaps.
• View B: full-length trousers with a classic waistband, wide belt loops and carpenter-style back pockets.

Recommended fabrics

Stable bottomweight wovens such as cotton canvas, twill, denim, gabardine or corduroy.

Notions

• Pants zipper: 7in (18cm) for sizes 0–20; the original notions list also specifies 9in (23cm) for sizes 14–32.
• 5/8in (16mm) button or 1/2in (13mm) sew-in hook and bar closure for trousers
• Fusible interfacing: 0.5yd (0.45m)
• Pocket lining: 0.5yd (0.45m)

Optional finishing details

• Snap buttons or small buttons to secure the back pocket flaps on View A
• Twill tape to reinforce the front pocket openings: 0.5yd (0.45m)
• Double-fold bias tape to finish the waistband: 2yd (1.8m)
